Who I Am

I'm an AI Engineer at the University of Galway, where I've been building a multi-agent RAG chatbot and an IoT monitoring platform for agricultural research. The project secured €500K in Research Ireland funding.

Before that, I spent a year at Wipro working on a core banking system for ICICI Bank. Two engineers keeping a loan management platform running for the whole country. You learn quickly that "it works on my machine" is not good enough.

I finished my MSc in Artificial Intelligence at Galway with a first class. My thesis on LLM-based protein classification got me an invitation to present at the Microbiology Society Annual Conference in Liverpool.

I like building things that actually get used. Not just demos or notebooks, but software running in production that people depend on.

  • Built and deployed a multi-agent RAG chatbot for agricultural advisory using LangChain, LangGraph, Milvus, and vLLM on AWS EC2. Live at chat.ryanagro.com.
  • Built a real-time IoT dashboard for greenhouse monitoring with FastAPI and JavaScript. Researchers use it to watch live sensor data from the farm. Live at dashboard.ryanagro.com.
  • Managed the cloud setup: 11 Docker containers covering the LLM server, vector DB, MongoDB, Redis, and Nginx on AWS, including GPU allocation and fixing production issues.
  • Added multilingual and voice input support so non-English speakers could use the chatbot.
  • Helped write the grant application that secured €500K in Research Ireland funding. Co-authored a paper in Frontiers in Sustainable Food Systems.

Application Engineer & Business Analyst

Wipro Ltd. (Client: ICICI Bank), Mumbai, India
  • One of two engineers responsible for FinnOne Neo, a loan management system used by ICICI Bank across India. If it broke, it was our problem to fix.
  • Handled incidents and root cause analysis using Oracle WebLogic, SQL, and log files. Wrote SOPs to stop the same issues coming back.
  • Was the main point of contact between the business team, operations, and vendors when something went wrong or needed to change.
  • Ran UAT cycles and production deployments, making sure changes were tested and signed off before going live.
  • Made calls during outages to get the system back up quickly.

Agri-Immanence Chatbot

A RAG chatbot for agricultural advisory that farmers and researchers actually use. It pulls from a curated knowledge base, supports multiple languages, and has voice input. Running on AWS with 11 Docker containers in the background.

Agri-Immanence Dashboard

A live monitoring dashboard for a research greenhouse. IoT sensors push data in real time and the dashboard shows it to the agronomists and researchers on the project. Built with FastAPI and vanilla JavaScript.

MSc Thesis

LLM-Based Protein Classification

My MSc thesis. I fine-tuned transformer models on peptide sequences to classify proteins, and got a solid accuracy improvement over the baseline. Was invited to present the work at the Microbiology Society Annual Conference in Liverpool.
